I had a great time tonight as part of the "Your World or Mine, Part 2" panel over at Con-Tinual: The Con That Never Ends with authors RE Carr, Rick Gualtieri, Alexandra Christian, Les Gould, and our host, Jean Marie Ward. We discussed the ins and outs, ups and downs, and more about writing in shared universes and writing characters that are not our own creations. We had a lot of fun. Look for it to go live in a couple of weeks.

I had the opportunity to talk about my experiences writing The Green Hornet, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The Lone Ranger, The Spider, The Avenger, Edgar Rice Burroughs' At The Earth's Core, Hunter Houston: Horror Hunter, Snow, and more. It was fun.

DRAGON CON 2021 UPDATE! BOBBY UNABLE TO ATTEND!

 

Due to circumstances outside of my control, I have had to cancel my appearance at this year's Dragon Con over Labor Day weekend in Atlanta. I will still be part of some of the virtual programming for the con so I'll be there in spirit, but alas, will be unable to attend in person. Hopefully, they'll have me back in 2022. I love this con and it's a hard one to miss.

Apologies to anyone who was expecting to see me there. It couldn't be helped.

WRITER PROBLEMS...

I wrote the most recent chapter of Snow Down for Patreon featuring two characters, Archer Snow and Big John Salmon, who are in the Snow Securities helicopter heading to Snow's aid. The chapter came out great until I realized a very important detail. Big John was not in the helicopter in a previous chapter. FBI Agent Tom "Mac" McClellan was so a rewrite was in order. Big John and Mac are very different characters so how one deals with the issue in the chapter is different that the other would so a big rewrite was required.

CON LIFE - BEN BOOKS' CHARLOTTE COMICON WEEKEND!

A fun day was had at the Charlotte Comicon on Sunday. Here's a shot of my table (and the crazy man behind it), another with me and Author Nicole Givens Kurtz as we showed of Snow Shorts Vol. 1 which features a story from each of us and Gary Phillips. You should totally pick up a copy HERE.

Thanks to showrunners Rick and David for a wonderful day and to my dad and H.E.R.B.I.E. the Muse for being my road trip partners for the weekend.

After returning from this year's Charlotte Comicon, Facebook reminded me of this photo from the same con on the same day, 10 years earlier. This was a cool family. If I remember correctly (it was 10 years ago) Ambush Bug was in character the entire time. Ain't #ConLife grand?
